Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU / Pre-Op (PRN)
Locations:- Town Center Ambulatory Surgery Center: 130 Town Center, Suite 130, Troy, MI 48084
- Michigan Surgical Utica: 11051 Hall Road, Suite 100, Utica, MI 48317
Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (no weekends, no holidays)

Around 24 hours per week (as needed)

Position OverviewMichigan Surgical is seeking a skilled, adaptable, and patient-focused PACU/Pre-Op Registered Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. This fill-in role averages about 24 hours a week to help our teams with staff call-outs, vacation leaves, and coverage needs. Because this role supports both of our premier ambulatory surgery centers, travel is involved between Troy and Utica. Job Requirements- Experience:
2 years of pre-operative or post-anesthesia (PACU) experience preferred. - Licensure:
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan. - Certifications:
Active BLS and ACLS certifications required. - Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred). - Travel:
Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel/float between the Troy and Utica ASC locations as needed. - Skills:
Strong communication skills, dedication to great patient service, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Steady daylight shifts (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM) with no weekend or holiday rotations. - Flexibility:

- Plan and organize the daily activities of the Pre-operative and PACU areas in accordance with instructions of the clinical director, physicians, and the center’s administrative procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment by following post-anesthesia standards of care.
- Communicate patient status to appropriate parties throughout the continuum of care.
- Perform interventions to maintain status of patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems; maintain fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels.
- Perform interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection.
- Assess and provide appropriate instructions/training/education to patients and family members throughout the perioperative process.
- Report and document all pertinent observations and nursing interventions.
- Perform other position related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and organization policies, including HIPAA and company compliance training.
- RN license and certification as required by state.
- BLS certification required; ACLS required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Deliver exceptional patient service throughout all interactions.
- Knowledge of healthcare system operations such as EMR.
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations and all health and safety policies.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- 2 years’ pre-operative/post-anesthesia experience preferred.
