The Furniture Salesperson is a full-time, on-site role based in Troy, MI, responsible for guiding customers through the furniture selection process in the showroom. Day-to-day tasks include greeting clients, understanding their style preferences and functional needs, presenting suitable furniture options, and explaining product features, materials, and craftsmanship. The role involves preparing quotes, processing sales transactions, coordinating orders, and liaising with the design team to support complimentary interior design consultations.
The Furniture Salesperson maintains showroom displays, keeps product information up to date, and follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage long-term relationships. This position also contributes to achieving sales targets through proactive outreach, professional communication, and exceptional service standards.
- Strong product knowledge and the ability to learn and present details about contemporary European and Italian furniture.
- Retail sales experience with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and clear, professional verbal interaction.
- Customer service skills focused on building trust, handling inquiries, and resolving concerns effectively.
- Sales skills, including consultative selling, upselling, and closing techniques in a showroom environment.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Troy, MI, including weekends and peak retail hours as needed.
- Comfort using POS systems, basic computer applications, and maintaining accurate sales records.
- Previous experience in furniture, luxury retail, or interior design-related settings is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in design, sales, or related fields is a plus.
