Responsibilities
- Resolve theft by conducting quality apprehensions and following policy, procedures, and AP leadership guidance.
- Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics.
- Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.
- Identify, support, and conduct internal theft investigations through exception‑based reporting and surveillance systems.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.
- Use video systems to monitor theft activity and support investigations.
- Leverage RFID data to track merchandise movement and aid item‑level investigations.
- Maintain the safety and security of customers, employees, and the store by responding to, escalating, and reporting all incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Support the security of physical spaces by conducting security audits, participating in store meetings, and leading shrinkage awareness training.
- Serve as a member of the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) and actively participate in emergency response training, including First Aid.
- Prepare and submit complete reports for high‑profile incidents, merchandise recoveries, investigations, policy violations, safety incidents, and other illegal activities.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
- Build cross‑functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
- Demonstrated ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism when dealing with aggressive individuals.
- High level of confidentiality and a calm demeanor under safety‑critical situations.
- Accountability, initiative, and strong ownership of work.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Compliance with state and local licensing requirements.
- Preferred:
Experience in investigative, asset protection, and security procedures.
Pay range: $24.80 – $25.80 per hour.
