PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Practice safety rules. All employees must comply with company safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations and must correct unsafe practices.
- Mobilization and demobilization – Ability to mobilize equipment, including loading, unloading, securing, set up and tear down.
- Equipment maintenance – Ensure all equipment, vehicles and tools are properly accounted for, used for correct purpose and maintained.
- Other – Serves as backup to other positions and performs other duties as assigned.
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds daily, seldom over 50 pounds.
- Grasp and manipulate various hand tools daily.
- Stand for more than two hours at a time, twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping regularly.
- Identify/distinguish colors and use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Communicate orally and be able to hear and understand.
- Operate motorized equipment and safely perform procedures that could result in injury.
- Work in an environment that may be uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation or similar.
- Proofread documents for accuracy; keyboard data entry.
- Comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations).
- Get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs as recommended. Check with project supervisor or safety director.
- Work extended hours on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
- Be clean shaven and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
- Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.

- Predominantly outdoor work
- Exposure to:
- Extreme heat or cold
- Humidity, rain, and other weather conditions
- Loud noise from tools and machinery
- Potential chemical exposure
- Minimum 1-2 years related experience excavating near underground utilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Class A CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsement preferred.
