Field Service Engine Technician

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician / Mechanic to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in New Hudson, MI.

• Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field.
• Develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
• Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
• Assist with completion of required documentation such as work completed, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
• Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues or incidents to supervisor.

• (Advanced) Technician Level III:
  Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all products in-scope; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to train and guide less experienced technicians. Flexible to work various hours and days, on-call and available for emergency needs.
• Valid driver’s license, company vehicle insurance, and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally; wear required personal protective equipment.
• Locally valid driving permit.

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (preferred).
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
• Locally valid driving permit.
• Position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Minimal workshop-related experience required.
• Basic knowledge of or experience with engine products.
• 3-5 years of experience (subject to federal requirements).
• Valid driver’s license; 3 years driving experience; 5 year motor vehicle record free from major violations; pass DOT physical.
• Subject to Federal Transit Administration random drug testing and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older; may require CDL.

• A CDL may be required upon hire.
• Federal law requires CDL holders to be 21 years of age or older.
• On-call availability for emergencies.

In addition to the above requirements, applicants must be able to work independently, have their own tools, meet customer needs, and possess computer skills.
