Panel Wirer
We have an immediate opening for an experienced Panel Wirer with an automation company. This position is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing industrial control panels used in automated manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting electrical schematics, wiring PLC control panels, and maintaining high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced automation environment.
Responsibilities- Assemble and wire industrial electrical control panels according to engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Mount electrical components including PLCs, power supplies, terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, contractors, VFDs, and safety devices.
- Route, cut, strip, crimp, label, and terminate wires while maintaining clean panel layout and workmanship.
- Read and interpret electrical prints, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and layout drawings.
- Perform point-to-point wiring and verify proper electrical connections.
- Install wire duct, DIN rail, cable management systems, and panel hardware.
- Use proper wire identification and labeling techniques.
- Test completed control panels using multimeters and continuity testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues and make necessary corrections prior to shipment.
- Ensure all work complies with UL, NEC, and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist electricians and machine builders during equipment integration when required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of industrial panel wiring or electrical assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with PLC control panels and industrial automation equipment.
- Knowledge of 24
VDC and 120/240/480
VAC electrical systems. - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Experience wiring panels for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Beckhoff control systems.
- Understanding of UL508A panel construction standards.
- Experience using ferrules, wire markers, and industrial crimping techniques.
