Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

General Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, and fixtures. The role operates under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager and adheres to established maintenance schedules and guidelines.

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and assets utilizing craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety and equipment training.

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to work at heights, up and down ladders, and at various temperatures.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.

Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade, or 5 years’ experience in the same trades. Valid driver’s license. Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program; license in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located; intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
