Role Description The Audio Visual (AV) Installation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Troy, MI. In this position, the technician installs, configures, and tests AV systems, including displays, speakers, control devices, and related components in homes and businesses. Daily tasks include running and terminating cabling, mounting equipment, performing system checks, and documenting installations according to company standards. The technician collaborates with team members ensuring a clean, professional installation.

The role also involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs or adjustments, and supporting post-installation service to maintain customer satisfaction and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively troubleshoot AV systems, diagnose technical issues, and perform basic repairs.
• Strong communication skills to work with team members, coordinate with contractors, and clearly explain systems to clients.
• Focus on customer service and customer satisfaction, with a professional, respectful approach on job sites.
• Experience with cabling, including pulling, routing, terminating, and labeling low-voltage wiring in residential and commercial environments.
• Basic knowledge of audio, video, networking, and control systems; familiarity with AV equipment and tools.
• Comfort working on ladders, using hand and power tools, and following safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow system diagrams, blueprints, and installation plans.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in AV, low-voltage, or related fields are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites in the region.
