Opportunity Summary

Under the guidance of the Residential Supervisor (RS), the Residential Training Coordinator (RTC) plays a pivotal role in supporting the onboarding and continuous training of Direct Support Professionals (DSP). This position is integral to enhancing the quality of client care, focusing on competency-based skill development and mentorship for DSPs. The RTC ensures consistent and efficient adherence to residential care responsibilities. Beyond training, the RTC stands as a reliable resource and mentor, fostering a positive learning environment and helping to refine DSP skills, engagement, and effectiveness.

Schedule

Due to the 24/7 nature of Origami’s Residential Program, this position does not follow a fixed schedule. Work hours will vary week to week based on program needs and may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Flexibility is required to ensure consistent support for clients and staff. Essential Duties
  • Model professional behavior and maintain positive working relationships in a therapeutic environment.
  • Adhere to confidentiality rules regarding clients and employees, both internally and with external agencies.
  • Proactively initiate and follow through on tasks using problem-solving techniques to ensure effective communication and resolution.
  • Maintain knowledge of and implement program policies, ensuring compliance with state licensing and CARF standards.
  • Conduct individual and group training sessions following the established curriculum.
  • Adapt training based on individual needs, learning styles, and required modifications.
  • Continuously monitor DSPs’ care delivery and provide hands‑on training to address skill gaps.
  • Assess staff and program training needs, evaluate current practices, and identify process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain accessible training materials and resources for staff.
  • Ensure new hire, annual, and ongoing training is completed within the required time frames and follow up as needed.
  • Communicate with the RS to stay updated on residential client care needs and required DSP skills.
  • Support high‑quality client care through problem‑solving, skill development, and teamwork.
  • Complete weekly focus client checklists and review relevant client orders.
