Position Description

The Asphalt Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt equipment, such as pavers, front end loaders, rollers, broom tractors, mini mills, and backhoes.

Responsibilities:

• Proper and efficient operation of asphalt paving equipment
• Basic maintenance of asphalt paving equipment
• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Skills:

• Be able to communicate with all positions of the workforce
• Ability to operate different asphalt paving equipment.
• Perform daily maintenance

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred
• 2-3 years of asphalt equipment experience, or in a related field
• Experience in construction equipment operation is preferred

Work Environment/Physical Abilities:

The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. May require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Asphalt Screed Operator functions.

Employee will be required at times to work nights, weekends, over 40-hour work weeks.
