Monroe County Intermediate School District will conduct a six‑week bus driver training course for selected applicants. Successful completion may result in placement on the substitute list; no guarantee of a position upon completion.

• Perform bus driver training and demonstrate safe driving practices.
• Maintain an excellent driving record.
• Comply with all state and federal drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Assist in the physical management of students as needed.
• Engage in regular communication with supervisors and support staff.

• Continuous sitting with occasional walking or standing.
• Frequent bending or twisting; occasional lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
• Requires good vision (close, color, depth, peripheral).
• Work in temperatures from 32°F to 90°F and occasionally on slippery surfaces.
• Noise level can be loud; may require raising voice to be heard.

Education
:
High school diploma or GED.

• Excellent driving record.
• Sensitivity to and interest in working with students with disabilities.
• Good verbal, math and grammar skills.
• Subject to State and Federal drugs/alcohol testing program.

• Michigan and FBI criminal history check post offer and prior to employment; $42 processing fee paid by applicant.
• Central Registry Clearance through the Department of Human Services for child abuse/neglect.

Health
: CDL physical with fees reimbursed to applicant.

Fees Reimbursed
: CDL license fee, CDL driving test fee, and fee for the three‑day bus driver training course for successfully completing trainees.

$16.00 per hour. No benefits.

Non‑exempt.
