Medical Courier / Specimen Transport Driver

The Medical Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional pickup and delivery of patient specimens, laboratory materials, supplies, documents, and other items between Uni Labs facilities, client locations, nursing facilities, and testing facilities.

This position is well suited for individuals who are dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable working independently, and able to follow established procedures and schedules.

• Safely pick up and transport coolers containing patient specimens between Uni Labs facilities and testing locations.
• Pick up and transport patient specimens from client lockboxes, nursing facilities, healthcare facilities, and other client locations.
• Follow established routes, schedules, pickup requirements, and delivery procedures.
• Ensure specimens, supplies, materials, and documents are delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.
• Provide courteous, helpful, and professional service when interacting with clients, patients, facility staff, and Uni Labs team members.
• Safely operate company vehicles and comply with all applicable traffic and motor vehicle laws.
• Report to work on time, appropriately dressed, and prepared to complete assigned duties.
• Maintain a valid and insurable driver's license and promptly report any change in driving status.
• Complete required daily vehicle inspections and immediately report deficiencies to a supervisor or designee.
• Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean and professional condition and remove trash and debris daily.
• Exercise responsible care of company vehicles, phones, equipment, supplies, and other Uni Labs property.
• Monitor and appropriately use company-issued mobile devices to receive, track, and complete assigned orders.
• Respond to work-related calls and communications while complying with applicable safe-driving requirements.
• Pick up and/or transport STAT specimens when assigned.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and submit documentation on time.
• Deliver laboratory supplies, orders, mail, documents, and other materials to clients and employees.
• Assist the Supply Department when needed.
• Perform basic vehicle-related checks or simple maintenance when appropriate and authorized.
• Assist during periods of increased activity and provide coverage for other routes, shifts, or days when needed.
• Work independently while remaining an effective member of the Uni Labs team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and interact with clients and the public in a courteous manner.
• Work scheduled weekends, holidays, health fairs, and other special assignments as required.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You do not need to have held a civilian "courier" job for your experience to be relevant. Military experience demonstrating safe vehicle operation, dependability, accountability, logistics, transportation, adherence to procedures, or successful completion of time-sensitive assignments will be considered.
