This role oversees inventory operations across multiple sites, leading Inventory Coordinators to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient material flow, and effective use of storage space. The Inventory Supervisor manages cycle counting, physical inventory processes, and staff training to support reliable, timely, and accurate inventory data for production and warehouse operations.
Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting, detailed root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Manage and oversee physical inventory counts at multiple sites throughout the year, ensuring timely reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies. Lead and support Inventory Coordinators at multiple locations, providing clear direction, guidance, and performance feedback. Train new and existing employees on proper handheld device procedures to ensure accurate allocation of material to work orders.
Ensure scrap material is properly recorded and deducted in SM3 or related inventory systems to maintain accurate stock records. Review and manage cycle counting and inventory accuracy reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Maximize safe vertical storage to increase capacity while maintaining safety and accessibility standards. Optimize the proximity of material to production saws and other equipment to improve workflow and reduce handling time.
Proven experience supervising 12 or more employees in a warehouse, inventory, or production environment. At least 2 years of experience owning and managing inventory for a site, including responsibility for accuracy and workflow. Strong background in inventory management and workflow coordination within a warehouse or production setting. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and train team members at various levels of experience.
Hands‑on experience with inventory control processes such as cycle counting and physical inventory reconciliation. Experience working in environments involving production, packaging, inventory, and warehouse management.
This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI. The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
