Accounting Controller

As the Accounting Controller, you will play a crucial role in directing and managing our organization's accounting operations. You will ensure the integrity of financial information, implement effective internal controls, and complete monthly and annual close processes in a timely and accurate manner. Your financial analysis and reporting will support key operational and executive decision-making.

• Direct daily accounting operations: oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Manage the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee construction accounting functions, including job costing, work-in-progress schedules, and change order tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze project financial performance and support profitability improvement initiatives.
• Enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Serve as the primary accounting system resource for Vista accounting software.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service partners as required.
• Mentor accounting staff and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles (e.g., job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting).
• Leadership experience with direct reports.
• Familiarity with Vista accounting software or similar systems.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in a senior-level accounting position or related fields.
• Background in heavy civil, infrastructure, or pipeline construction environments is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is based onsite at our corporate headquarters in Troy, Missouri, with regular in-office attendance required. Collaborate closely with executive leadership, project management, and accounting teams to achieve our financial objectives.
