Electrical Systems Engineer
Facilitate electrical building system startups and commissioning activities.
Provide subject matter expertise in reviewing product submittals, shop drawings, engineering designs, specifications, and contractor RFIs.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, and arc flash safety standards.
Apply knowledge of industry codes and standards including IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, and FM.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover.
Manage and coordinate weekend work and plant shutdown activities with stakeholders.
Conduct continuous work progress inspections and quality checks.
Support construction administration including schedule coordination, meetings, and outage planning.
Inspect electrical systems for compliance with specifications, codes, and quality standards.
Oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to project schedules and delivery methods.
Prepare and deliver field engineering reports on progress and schedule.
Provide feedback to improve technical specifications and project standards.
Communicate technical information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Manage multiple tasks and prioritize based on deadlines and project milestones.
Required
Skills And Experience:
5–10 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in construction management.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design.
Experience developing design criteria for electrical systems.
Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and commissioning processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
Strong organizational, communication, and schedule management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD software.
Multi-disciplinary background (e.g., civil and electrical).
Experience with Kanban methodologies.
Experience in startup and commissioning of substations and/or mechanical equipment.
Some college education or equivalent practical experience.
