Senior Product Engineer, IP, Doors, Honda

Responsibilities

• Responsible to identify, design and develop a product/product family.
• Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.
• Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.
• Receive and process changes required by clients, released on production, at a SR Level.
• Responsible to develop the product from concept up to the SOP on a limited basis or as a full development as an FSS.
• May develop, uncover, characterize, and assess strategic new products and/or product extensions.
• Transforms and adopts discoveries to ensure research and development activities will maintain an organization’s competitive position.
• May also focus on pure research and/or design and implementing the manufacturing processes and equipment for the product.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 4–8+ years of experience in product engineering, with direct experience in a Tier 1 automotive or OEM manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in AIAG core tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), Control Plans, and SPC.
• Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and CAD software (CATIA, NX, Solid Works).
• Specific expertise in IP, door panel, consoles.
• Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems is preferred.
• IATF 16949 auditor certification is preferred.
