Experienced Welder/Fabricator – MIG/TIG/Stick | Structural & Pipe

$22–$28/hr based on experience and skill level

Swafford-Kientzy Machine & Fabrication, Inc. (SKMF) is a family-owned custom fabrication shop in Troy, MO, looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team.

This is a true job-shop environment with a variety of custom projects—not repetitive production-line welding. You'll work on projects from blueprint and layout through fabrication and finished product.

• MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
• Pipe welding
• Custom equipment and component fabrication
• Fabrication from blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembly
• Working with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized material
• Operating saws, presses, shears, grinders, and other fabrication equipment
• Performing occasional repair and field installation work
• Setting up and adjusting welding equipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Helping troubleshoot fabrication and welding problems

• 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience preferred
• TIG and Stick welding experience
• Experience reading blueprints and drawings
• Strong measuring, layout, and math skills
• Ability to fabricate and fit parts with attention to detail
• Experience with structural steel and/or pipe welding is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Must pass a hands‑on welding/fabrication test
• Must have welding helmet, gloves, and basic personal PPE/tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical shop work
• Machining, AutoCAD, millwright, installation, or other industrial fabrication experience is a plus.
