About the Position
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a full-time locum opportunity in Troy, New York, providing coverage for an adult inpatient behavioral health unit. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with a 1:4 call rotation that includes weekends.

The position covers a 30-bed adult inpatient unit, shared between two physicians, averaging approximately 15 patients per day per provider. The broader inpatient service includes multiple psychiatrists, ensuring collaborative clinical support. The outpatient department is also fully staffed with physicians and advanced practice providers.

Providers will work within an established behavioral health program utilizing Epic EMR. Comprehensive safety and security measures are in place, including 24/7 security personnel. Weekend call may include crisis evaluations, with pediatric cases stabilized and transferred to appropriate adolescent facilities if admission is required.

Requirements

Board Certified in Psychiatry (Required)

Active New York Medical License at time of submission (Required)

ACLS Certification (Required)

Clean background for expedited credentialing (Required)

Full-time availability (Required)

Self-Query NPDB report (must be pulled within the same month as submission)
