POSITION SUMMARY
Provides support to Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) and CAO Director with the timely creation of marketing and communications materials. Works cooperatively and maintains a pleasant attitude with staff, individuals, family members, providers and other community connections. Maintains confidentiality of all information.
As an employee of the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Riverside), the job incumbent shall always comply with all Board policies, and shall demonstrate respect for, support the dignity of, and observe the rights of all individuals served by the Board and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse beliefs, cultures, values and family structures.
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent;
Preferred - Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Communications, Public Relations or related field. - Knowledge in emerging technology, advertising and social media trends.
- Technology skills including Microsoft Office Suite, graphic and web design software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with a strong history of producing creative and professional materials.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must support Person-Centered Philosophy and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Must abide by Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities Code of Conduct and adopted values.
- Ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check, Abuser Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen.
- Possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license, with fewer than five (5) points, and the ability to drive to agency locations as needed per policy.
- Develop information into professional communications materials to educate the community about MCBDD’s services and foster community inclusion for people with developmental disabilities.
- Creates and maintains professional marketing and communications content.
- Manages content for social media and website, ensuring timely posts about MCBDD events and activities.
- Assists Community Connections Department with sending alerts via One Call Now and social media for updates on scheduled activities.
- Conducts interviews with people served and other relevant subjects to gather content for communications pieces.
- Writes copy for communications pieces, adhering primarily to the Associated Press (AP) Stylebook.
- Designs marketing communications materials of all types, ensuring compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA and consistency with the MCBDD Brand Book.
- Take photos and records videos to gather content for communications pieces.
- May be requested to coordinate and deliver guided tours of facilities to explain the purpose, function and history of MCBDD.
- Attends meetings, provides information to internal and external stakeholders.

HOURSMonday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and additional hours may be required.
FLSANon-Exempt from Overtime.
COMPENSATION$18.85 - $26.93 per hour/DOQ.
