What You Will Do Time Studies- Conduct stopwatch or video-based time studies on all operations in the target cell(s).
- Break down each operation into elements, calculate cycle times, and compare against takt time.
- Document operator balance charts, Yamazumi charts, and standard work combination sheets.
- Perform daily/weekly “pitch walks” (Gemba-style audits) of each production cell.
- Verify presence and condition of: tools, materials, production packets, gages, visual aids, kanban, 5S standards, etc.
- Observe operator adherence to current standard work.
- Log every issue found during time studies and pitch walks.
- Immediately fix low-effort issues on the spot (e.g., relocate tools, restock materials, correct mislabeled gages).
- Escalate higher-impact or cross-functional issues to Client leadership with recommended actions.
- Consolidate all issues into a central location (e.g., shared Excel/SharePoint tracker or A3 form).
- Categorize by type, frequency, and impact (time lost, quality risk, safety, etc.).
- Create and maintain a live Pareto chart to prioritize top issues.
- Lead or support implementation of the prioritized fixes.
- Use PDCA or A3 methodology where appropriate.
- Verify effectiveness with follow-up time studies and pitch walks.
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 0-3 years prior relevant experience.
- 0-3 years of manufacturing componenttrouble-shooting experience.
- LEAN manufacturing experience.
- Experience with equipment and factory layouts.
- Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work RequirementsThis role is considered an on-site position located in Troy, OH.
- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
- Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel requirements: Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
Citizenship requirement: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
