Environmental Scientist

G2 Consulting Group is looking for a full-time Environmental Scientist with minimum five years of demonstrated experience to join our Environmental Consulting Department at our headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

Environmental Scientist will perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is required. Asbestos Building Inspector is a major plus.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Environmental / Ecological or other related fields
• Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in environmental consulting
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
• Asbestos Building Inspector strongly preferred
• Phase 1 Site Assesments
• HAZWOPER training preferred
• Certified Lead Paint Inspector preferred
• Certified Wetland Specialist preferred
• AutoCAD skills preferred
• Strong prioritization and coordination skills, self‑directed and self‑motivated
• Good administrative and time management skills with keen attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and have an excellent driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Willingness to work outside
• Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel requiring out of town, overnight stays

• Represent G2 in a professional manner on assigned sites
• Preparation of reports in a variety of formats
• Preparing work and health and safety plans
• Conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling
• Remediation system operation and maintenance
