Work will be performed on site at the Troy, OH facility.
What You Will Do- Lead structural dynamics projects for aircraft wheels and brakes, ensuring analytical assessment, dynamic testing, system response analysis, and final reporting for internal and external customers.
- Create and validate structural dynamics models using ANSYS Mechanical, LS-Dyna, and other CAE tools.
- Define parameters for dynamics‑related dynamometer test programs and oversee instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis.
- Update and validate finite element models through test data correlation.
- Provide design recommendations based on modeling and test results to improve dynamic response.
- Resolve field and operational issues related to excessive vibrations using Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA).
- Lead technology development and analytical method improvements with the latest CAE tools and experimental validation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during product development, validation, and qualification, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Mentor junior and new engineers in dynamics engineering skills and review their work for technical quality.
- Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally when required.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Typical requirement: a STEM degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Structural Dynamics, NVH, and/or Friction‑Induced Vibration product development.
- Experience with dynamics modeling and simulation using LS‑Dyna, Abaqus Explicit, or similar.
- Experience in test instrumentation, data acquisition, signal processing, and model validation associated with dynamics testing.
- Experience in Aero Structures, aircraft wheels, and brakes.
- Experience developing highly nonlinear dynamic models for explicit solvers.
- Programming/scripting skills in MATLAB and Python.
- Hands‑on experience with vibration testing and discrete data post‑processing techniques such as FFT, ODS, and other analysis methods.
- Knowledge of MIL‑STD‑810, DO‑160, or other relevant aerospace standards.

This role is eligible for relocation.
Salary Range: 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The range reflects all experience levels and is adjusted for location, education, and key skills.
