We currently have an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer, in our Troy, Ohio location. This is 100% on-site and no relocation is available.
Summary- Purpose:
Electrical Expert with Controls experience. Designs, specifies, project manages, and provides plant level support for facility power and equipment controls. Leads Clopay in setting electrical standards and maintaining performance in regard to facility power.
Responsible for managing projects from conception to completion including:
- Define project scope, budget and objectives.
- Develop detailed timing plans with functional milestones to support project objectives; execute plan within established timing.
- Manage Project from startup to completion.
- Project management and tracking for content/schedule/budget/plant safety.
- Writing of justifications and proposals.
- Develop specification of capital equipment.
- Develop Specification for shop floor data used to drive capital equipment.
- Writing purchase contracts for capital equipment.
- Manage vendors and contractors.
- Provide project updates regularly to stakeholders.
- Reviewing/providing feedback/approving equipment drawings.
- Finalize all as built drawings and documentation.
- Research and analyze best practices in manufacturing concepts and trends for applicability; stay abreast of latest manufacturing technology and leverage technology
- Research and develop plant improvements projects, safety, machine efficiency, modernization, increase capacity, etc.
- Interfacing with plant personnel.
- Start-up new equipment, including debug.
- Concept and develop solutions for labor and cost reduction as well as quality improvement.
- Work directly with equipment vendors in the creation of systems and programming.
- Integration of separate pieces of equipment constituting a manufacturing process or line.
- Provide plant level support for facility power and equipment.
This position focuses on electrical aspects of the aforementioned equipment. Responsibility for some mechanical design and components as well as electrical controls will be required.

- Experience leading the conceptual design, layout development, and engineering of capital equipment for large-scale capital projects, including BOM development, equipment layout drawings, and detailed design documentation.
- Experience managing capital projects from start to finish
- Experience in project management and process equipment design for projects ranging in magnitude to multi-millions of dollars
