Application Engineer Responsibilities
- Apply engineering expertise to support sealing solutions across static and dynamic applications, including O-rings and emerging electrification/eMobility technologies.
- Analyze warranty data, field performance, and teardown findings to identify root causes and drive continuous quality improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal experts (materials, tribology, CAE, and program management) and external customers to solve technical challenges.
- Support customer programs and component reviews by providing technical input in program management meetings.
- Develop and update seal designs using 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Solid Works, NX) to meet application requirements.
- Lead or support problem-solving initiatives, including corrective actions, plant quality alignment, and VA/VE cost reduction projects.
- Act as a technical partner to assigned customers-promoting solutions, identifying conversion opportunities, and delivering product training and application expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and application documentation.
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or NX.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with customers.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
