Our Landing Systems Business Unit headquartered in Troy, Ohio designs, tests and manufactures a wide range of fully integrated landing systems. Our innovative solutions include lighter-weight, high-strength materials; more electric technologies; DURACARB® carbon friction material; EDL® extended life configurations; and innovative aircraft gear, wheel and brake design.
What You Will Do- Assure manufacturing process, equipment, tooling, fixture design, routings, programming, and standard work in support of production requirements for chemical/special processing (Anodizing, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Etch, Shot Peening and Wastewater Treatment) and paint operations.
- Develop, optimize and sustain manufacturing processes using lean principles - standard work, flow optimization, waste elimination and visual management.
- Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives using structured methodologies (A3, RCA, PDCA, VSM, Kaizen) to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
- Identify and implement cost savings related to labor utilization, scrap reduction, process efficiency and capital deployment.
- Manage and lead projects using a gated project management structure - including scope definition, timeline development, cross-functional alignment, risk mitigation and gate reviews.
- Lead capital projects including equipment justification, vendor management, installation, commissioning (FAT/SAT) and process validation.
- Conduct Industrial Engineering analyses such as time studies, line balancing, work sampling, ergonomic evaluations, and capacity modeling.
- Support compliance activities including AS9100, NADCAP and internal audit readiness; ensure processes maintain certification-related requirements.
