Position Summary
Facilities Maintenance Manager, Licensed Mechanical Contractor – Troy, OH
At Walmart, we are looking for a dynamic licensed manager to oversee predictive and preventative maintenance of our facilities in a regional area. The role involves leading a team of technicians and ensuring the buildings operate efficiently, sustainably, and safely for associates and customers.
Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians.
- Coordinate with Store Managers and Facility Services leadership on facility service needs.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships as needed.
- Conduct site inspections, secure permits, and verify compliance with mechanical and building codes.
- Maintain up‑to‑date contractor licenses and certifications to keep good standing with authorities.
- Participate in continuous training programs and stay current on regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze reporting and analytics for operational improvement.
- Travel within the region approximately 50% or more.
- 3–5 years of general facilities services or overall building maintenance experience.
- Electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical experience.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis experience.
- Customer service skills.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- PMP Certification.
- Lean Six Sigma.
- Maintain a mechanical contractor license in the state of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field and either 3 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, or engineering, or 5 years of the same. EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire. Mechanical contractor license or equivalent in the state of assignment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in building controls or related areas.
- Leadership experience in cross‑functional teams.
- Prior supervisory experience in optical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.
- State and jurisdiction required certification and license for the state of work.
- EPA Type I and Type II certification for refrigerant handling.
