Overview
Senior Gage & Fixture Inspector position at Collins Aerospace, Troy, OH. Onsite role (3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 11P-7A). Responsible for setting, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining gages and all equipment used for product and process inspection. Performs complex and ultra-precision inspection on items beyond in-process inspection. Job is usually performed in the Gage Room but may occur in other manufacturing areas. This role requires a U.S. Person as defined by company policy.

- Inspect new and reworked tools and fixtures for blueprint conformity.
- Periodically inspect gages, fixtures, and measuring equipment for wear and calibration.
- Maintain records, including daily tape backups of gage calibration data files.
- Set and adjust gages for specific inspection applications as required.
- Inspect setup or first production pieces for new machine setups.
- Inspect experimental or unique items for blueprint and engineering conformity.
- Perform Sample Approval inspections on forgings, castings, and other materials.
- Report all inspections on appropriate forms or computer systems.
- Inform supervision of any abnormal situations.
- Operate and maintain CAD/CAM workstations for programming CMM/Inspection/Test equipment.
- Assist in training new Senior Gage & Fixture Inspectors.
- Clean and maintain work areas, machines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Check and maintain operating levels of machine fluids and materials.
- Move materials between workstations and cells as required.
- Tear down, analyze, and repair faulty test and measuring equipment.
- Request adequate stock of spare parts for gage equipment repair.
- Participate in quality-related training activities and department meetings.
- Perform other QA duties as assigned.
- Oil machines as needed.
- Retrieve items from the tool crib and complete necessary forms/transactions.
- Perform mathematical calculations and pass a pre-employment qualification test as required.
- Adhere to EH&S roles and responsibilities as stated in manufacturing work instructions and EHS policies and procedures.
- Typically requires a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience or minimum of 2 years quality manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with technical documents (including routings, blueprints, Engineering process specifications, or written work instructions).
