Novacel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. This hands‑on role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and motivated to continuously develop their technical skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and utilities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Assist with equipment installations, setups, changeovers, calibrations, and adjustments to support production requirements.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders within the CMMS system.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before they impact production.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with machine operators and production personnel to troubleshoot performance issues.
- Support machine startups, operational checks, and equipment optimization efforts.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.
- Adhere to and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, arc flash, and other critical safety programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Recommend process and equipment improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
- Support cost-reduction, waste-reduction, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Support departmental initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include heat, noise, dust, and required PPE.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
- Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, sensors, and controls.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
