Position: 3rd Shift Production Supervisor (Onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Work with production control to create a week‑by‑week schedule and assign operators accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes within the cell in order to improve efficiency and eliminate rework/scrap.
  • Work with 1st and 3rd shift supervisors on priorities and needs.
  • Establish recovery plans to recover daily/weekly misses before they impact the month/quarter.
  • Roll‑up, consolidate, and report overall cell results (control tower ownership).
  • Ensure robust root cause and corrective actions (DAISE) for major monthly misses (red metrics) at the Cell Control Tower levels.
  • Celebrate wins when cells perform at an exceptional level.
  • Execute Macro Plan activities throughout the year, including support of 4× annual Lean Leadership Weeks.
People & Culture
  • Communicate, train, guide, and counsel hourly associates to support Continuous Improvement strategies (5S, Flow, Ahead/Behind, SWIP management, Line Back Logistics, Product/Process Family definition).
  • Direct operator activities, including training, performance appraisals, discipline, safety, communications, and opportunity resolution.
  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Lean Transformation
  • Partner with CORE/CI to support the site transformation journey and roadmap.
  • Create/align cells through product/process family alignment as defined.
  • Implement JIT/JIS Materials Management philosophy.
  • Ensure the cell operates daily according to the 6 principles of Ops Management.
  • Adhere to Time‑based Standard Work for all functions.
  • Use closed‑loop corrective action systems for all losses.
Key Performance Impact
  • Output, Hours, On‑Time Delivery, Inventory (WIP, SWIP to WIP ratio near
    1), Lead Time (days to manufacture) decrease, and overall productivity/efficiency/OEE increase.
  • Yield/Process Capability increases;
    Schedule Stabilization improves;
    Safety (First Aid, recordables, lost time) improves; SRR (scrap, rework, repair) decreases.
  • Lead special projects as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • University degree and minimum two years of prior relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operations‑related management roles (hands‑on supervision).
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, special processing, assembly).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualifications We Prefer
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Direct working experience of the Troy W&B Site / Products.
  • Aerospace work environment experience.
  • Automotive production system experience (Lean, ACE, TPS, DBS, etc.).

Salary and Compensation

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is a good‑faith estimate and includes consideration of role, function, responsibilities, experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
