Position: Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager (Onsite)

Job Overview

Reporting to the Director of Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, you will lead food safety, quality, and regulatory programs at our Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility, producing products such as Slim Jim, meat snacks, and frozen bakery items. This role is onsite at our Troy, Ohio plant.

Responsibilities
  • Lead food safety and quality programs on the plant floor, ensuring strong ownership across operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices, including hygiene, sanitation, and waste handling.
  • Manage key milestones and metrics for the Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs improvement plan.
  • Analyze and communicate food safety and quality issues, including consumer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies including USDA and FDA, and all company and safety policies.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory inspectors and internal partners across operations, RQI, and commercial teams.
  • Lead programs such as hazard analysis and critical control points, Safe Quality Food certification, environmental monitoring, pest control, and recall readiness.
  • Support vendor quality issues and new product launches using established tools and processes.
  • Own the Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs pillar within the Conagra Performance System, driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead internal, customer, and certification audits, including corrective action responses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality or food safety.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements including Global Food Safety Initiative, Food Safety Modernization Act, FDA, and USDA.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build culture, coach teams, and drive learning and development.
  • Experience with hazard analysis and critical control points, Safe Quality Food standards, and audit readiness.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, customer, and certification audits, including Preventive Controls.
  • Experience with manufacturing and quality systems such as SAP, Oracle, vision systems, or plant quality systems.
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving, and root cause investigation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and collaborate across teams.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects such as product launches and process improvements.
Physical Requirements

This role may require you to walk around the facility, climb stairs or ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand‑eye coordination. You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size. This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment.

Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

Compensation

Pay Range: $109,000 – $159,000 per year. Actual salary will depend on location, experience, level, skills, and internal equity considerations.
