Conagra Brands is seeking an Ammonia/Refrigeration Technician to support safe, reliable operation of industrial refrigeration systems at our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will operate, inspect, and maintain ammonia systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related utilities to ensure optimal performance and product quality. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to alarms and emergencies, and maintain detailed logs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and PSM/RMP standards.
Working in a collaborative, performance-driven culture, you'll help drive continuous improvement and support plant reliability in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair industrial ammonia/refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, and related equipment
- Perform routine inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance on refrigeration and utility systems
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and complete timely repairs to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation in accordance with safety and regulatory standards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and PSM/RMP requirements and company safety policies
- Respond to alarms and emergencies, participating in on-call rotation as needed
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to support plant reliability and continuous improvement
- Support capital projects, system upgrades, and process improvements for refrigeration systems
Required Skills
- Industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Troubleshooting and repair of compressors, condensers, and evaporators
- PSM/RMP compliance and documentation
- EPA Section 608 compliance
- Mechanical and piping systems
- Basic electrical and controls/PLC troubleshooting
- Industrial safety, LOTO, and PPE use
- Reading P&IDs and technical schematics
- CMMS and maintenance recordkeeping
