Social Services Case Aide

The purpose of the Social Services Case Aide is to assist Social Services Case Workers by assisting, interviewing, and screening/monitoring incoming and ongoing clients. Also performs general clerical duties and aids Social Services personnel.

High School Diploma or equivalent, valid Ohio driver's license.

Assists, interviews, and screens incoming and ongoing reports of child abuse, neglect and/or dependency to the agency. Provides technical assistance to Social Services Workers in completing case work. Interviews and monitors clients, collect necessary verifications, documenting client needs, discussing service alternatives, assisting in the location of goods and services, transporting clients, making contacts with service providers, and initiating referrals as assigned.

Performs miscellaneous duties, attends training and meetings. May be required to testify in court. May be required to drive for work purposes.

The Social Services Case Aide is responsible for ensuring that children are cared for in a safe environment. The incumbent must attend to the possibility of harm coming to children, who are unable to protect themselves. This position requires attention to ensure that actions do not create dangerous situations for children. These children are incapable of protecting themselves from physical, mental, and/or sexual abuse.

This position involves regular exposure to environmental factors (e.g., cold, excessive heat, noise, fumes, vibration, dirt) during interviews and meetings conducted outside of the office. The incumbent may occasionally interact with angry or hostile clients.

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (Hours may vary due to the needs of the agency outside of normal working hours)

$17.82/hour
