POSITION LOCATION:
TROY, OH SHIFT: 4:30 PM to 01:30 AM, MONDAY – FRIDAY
The Operations Supervisor shift is 4:30 pm to 01:30 am Monday through Friday and is responsible for a large dedicated outbound transportation operation within a customer facility making unattended deliveries to 170+ automotive dealerships before 0700. This position is accountable for parts distribution transportation and leads a team of 40 dedicated drivers with 5 remote domiciles, driving 13K+ miles a night within the states of OH, IN, MI, KY, PA, VA & WV.
Effectively manage equipment utilization/maintenance and driver management to include safety, scheduling, dispatch, quality, on-time delivery service and performance management. CEVA is looking for an experienced dedicated transportation supervisor that can lead a SAFE operation and provide EXCEPTIONAL service.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and CEVA requirements and regulations
- Provides instructions to hourly employees on proper material handling and work methodologies
- Monitors employee productivity and quality of work
- Provide instructions to drivers on routing and proper handling of materials
- Audit driver’s logs and train staff to audit logs.
- Conduct safety meetings
- Write work instructions that are clear for the employees to follow
- Ensures employees are following proper work instructions in their assigned areas
- Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area
- Ensures employees are provided with appropriate tools to complete assignments
- Counsels and uses progressive corrective action processes when disciplining employees
- Remains current with changes and operating procedures within assigned areas
- Provides clear concise written and verbal communication to all personnel
- Provide hours of service training/counselling and FMCSR training to all associates
- Perform driver safety rides (process walk)
Skills:
Essential Requirements Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred, or an equivalent combination of education & work experience
- Two – five years driver supervisory experience in a transportation, distribution or manufacturing environment required
- Two – five years working in the Transportation industry
- Automotive, Grocery and/or Food Industry experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of current DOT regulations
- Familiarity with FMCSR and DOT regulations
- Provides clear concise written and verbal communication to all personnel
- Ability to produce and make decisions in a highly fast-paced and volatile environment
