Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a non-profit organization in Truckee, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports day-to-day accounting activities in a fund accounting setting, with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and timely financial processing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a high volume of transactions while helping maintain reliable records across multiple funds and meeting non-profit accounting standards.

This is a part time position that is remote but candidates MUST be local to the Truckee area.

Responsibilities:

- Manage incoming invoices and payment processing to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on schedule.

- Record and monitor customer or grant-related receivables, applying payments and following established accounting procedures.

- Complete regular bank and account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Prepare routine journal entries and supporting documentation as needed for monthly accounting activities.

- Enter large volumes of financial data with close attention to accuracy, coding, and completeness.

- Maintain accounting records across multiple individual funds within a structured fund accounting environment.

- Assist with ongoing accounting operations while helping uphold compliance with non-profit financial guidelines and reporting practices.

Requirements - Prior experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a non-profit organization.

- Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general transaction processing.

- Experience performing bank reconciliations and identifying variances in financial records.

- Familiarity with fund accounting principles and multi-fund recordkeeping.

- Ability to prepare journal entries accurately and maintain organized supporting documentation.

- Strong data entry skills with the ability to manage high-volume work efficiently.

- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a deadline-driven accounting environment.
