We are looking for a well‑rounded, self‑motivated Director of Interior Design to lead our interior design department on custom residential, multi‑family, and commercial projects. The role requires an immediate impact and engagement with a portfolio of exciting projects.

The Director of Interior Design leads the interior design department, oversees large‑scale projects, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver exceptional design solutions. Responsibilities include managing the design process from concept through completion, ensuring aesthetic, functional, schedule, and budgetary goals, building and maintaining client relationships, mentoring staff, and driving innovation.
Responsibilities- Interior Design Department Head
- Lead and oversee the interior design team, ensuring quality and consistency of deliverables.
- Develop, define, communicate, and implement design strategies aligned with company vision, brand values, and market trends.
- Stay informed on latest trends, materials, and technologies, incorporating them into projects.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and staffing decisions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to influence company growth and direction.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and design integrity, authorizing final design plans and presentations.
- Design Leadership
- Oversee conceptualization, development, and execution of design solutions across multiple projects.
- Manage full project lifecycle from concept through final installation.
- Participate in initial programming, concept, and schematic phases.
- Provide overall quality control and input on sourcing and design solutions.
- Oversee selection of furniture, materials, and finishes.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and industry professionals.
- Business Development
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Attend client pitches and represent the company at industry events.
- Develop and implement promotional programs, proposals, and qualification packages.
- Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts for complex projects.
- Project Management
- Oversee all stages of project design and implementation, including space planning, material selection, procurement, and budget management.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
- Coordinate project efforts, prepare strategic plans, and serve as primary client liaison.
- Manage client budgets, schedules, and programs; handle documentation and administrative tasks.
- Provide oversight and quality control for less experienced team members.
- Produce accurate technical drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using Revit or similar software.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, ADA requirements, and sustainability practices.
- Presentation & Communication
- Present design concepts and proposals to clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Problem Solving
- Troubleshoot design and construction issues, providing creative solutions.
- Team Collaboration & Training
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of interior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to junior designers.
- MS or BS degree in Interior Design
- 10+ years of professional experience in interior design, focusing on high‑end residential or commercial projects
