Alder Creek Adventure Center - Truckee, CA 96161 Salary Range: $17.00 - $23.46 Hourly Tahoe Donner Association is looking for fun and high-energy Cross-Country Children’s Ski Instructors to join our cross-country operations! The Children’s Ski Instructors are responsible for teaching children of various ages and levels in ski programs and classes and other ski area activities as needed. This position promotes the sport of skiing with exceptional guest service by providing safe, enjoyable and effective group ski and individual ski lessons for kids.
This position reports directly to the Cross-Country Ski School Director.

We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Passion to teach cross country skiing to children, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Minimum intermediate xc skiing skills or above.
- Ability to assess and teach to a level appropriate to an assigned student or group’s abilities, fitness and needs.
- Current Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) membership recommended.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications recommended.
- Ability to work midweek afternoons and weekends, holidays is preferred.
- Effective communication skills, oral and written.
- Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through PSIA or AASI Certification and/or Children’s Accreditation, teaching experience in a sports setting with children, recreation, education or child development experience and customer service experience in a resort setting plus trainings offered by The Professional Ski Instructors; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
