OT Cybersecurity Automation Specialist

Location:

Truckee, CA (potential for work in Irvine, CA; Denver, CO; Boston, MA; Woodbury, NY; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX). Project work may require national and international travel.

• Independently design and develop OT cybersecurity-focused solutions and automation projects with senior-level guidance.
• Evaluate legacy OT systems and provide strategic recommendations for improvements, migrations, or replacements based on criticality and risk.
• Implement industry regulations, standards, and frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800‑82, and ISA 62443.
• Create control system architectures, network segmentation diagrams, P&, and specifications with general direction.
• Prepare design reports under limited supervision.
• Review shop drawings including cybersecurity project plans, network segmentation plans, firewall policies, control system components, and panel wiring diagrams.
• Develop OT cybersecurity and automation project budgets and construction cost estimates.
• Contribute to proposal sections and client presentations under general supervision.
• Travel as required to project sites, client meetings, factory tests, and system start‑ups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Prepared to travel nationally or internationally as needed.

• CompTIA Security+, GIAC GICSP, or ISC² CISSP certification, or ability to obtain within six months.

• Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles in industrial settings, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Understanding of SCADA and DCS configuration and implementation.
• Familiarity with network protocols, architecture, and configuration (Modbus, DNP3, OPC).
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to engage a geographically dispersed team and diverse client base.
• Excellent time‑management, multitasking, and prioritization skills to meet schedules and budgets.
• Mentoring ability and flexibility to adapt to different learning styles.

Travel requirement: approximately 20% of the time. Position requires U.S. citizenship and a valid driver’s license.

Fulltime‑Regular. Salary Range: $81,765 – $134,909. Hybrid work options may be considered for the successful candidate.
