Rate of Pay: $78.94/hour + DOE + Shift Differential (Base Pay of $70.17/hour includes 12.5% per diem premium)
SummaryFunctions independently in performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care for patients’ needs and/or complications of treatment in the Emergency Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collects and documents data about patients seen on the unit.
- Interprets assessment data to prioritize treatment needs.
- Implements and evaluates individual plan of care.
- Prioritizes and assesses patient acuity and treatment modalities.
- Communicates discharge instructions and teaching.
- Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work at ski first aid stations.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Education /ExperienceAssociate's Degree from college or vocational school from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty.
1-2 years relevant experience
Required Licenses/Certifications- California Registered Nurse (RN) – Upon hire
- California and Nevada RN licenses for new employees hired into the District after September 1, 2012 (effective November 2014, if hired as a temporary or seasonal RN, must have current CA RN license only). Current employees in this job classification as of 1/1/2023 must obtain their NV RN license by 6/1/2023
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Within 6 months of hire into job
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers – Upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – Upon hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support – Upon hire
- BLS/ACLS/PALS:
Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certification). Within 3 months of hire into job.
Required:
Two years current Emergency Department experience as an RN or one year Emergency Department and one year critical care RN experience.
Temporary or seasonal staff may be hired with only one year of Emergency Department or Critical Care RN Experience.
