For over 60 years, St. Vincent's Special Needs Services has been a trusted provider of specialized services for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, such as cerebral palsy, acute brain injury, neuromuscular disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
Each year, more than 400 children, adults and their families receive services from the organization.
Job Summary:
- Assists with the planning and implementation of school activities for children.
Responsibilities:
- Creates opportunities for enhancing student skills. Plans and implements activities that are consistent with student abilities, interests and educational plans.
- Assists with school inclusion, inclusion in alternate school settings, the development of appropriate curriculum, workshop/life skills, speech and language, art, music, and adaptive physical education.
- Provide staff in-services.
- Maintains data and other records according to protocol.
- Acts as substitute in absence of the teacher.
- Encourages student independence in communication, decision making and other activities.
- Displays enthusiasm and appropriate energy level to maintain students motivation, cooperation, and participation.
- Plans and implements activities that are consistent with student abilities, interests, and educational plans.
- Participates in arrival and dismissal practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 2 years experience working with children with disabilities preferred.

Part-time (2 - 39 hours)
Shift Details:
Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 3:45pm FULL BENEFITS
