Tax Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to support a long-term contract opportunity in Trumbull, Connecticut. This position will oversee a broad mix of tax engagements, including individual, business, trust, and estate filings, while helping maintain accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, advanced spreadsheet capabilities, and the ability to manage detailed compliance work efficiently across multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review a range of tax returns, including individual, partnership, S corporation, fiduciary, estate, and related filings, with a focus on accuracy and completeness.

- Lead work associated with annual income tax provisions and ensure reporting aligns with applicable tax regulations and financial data.

- Manage corporate tax return activities and support sales tax compliance requirements across assigned entities or engagements.

- Use tax software platforms such as CCH Pro System Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Quick Books Online, Access, and Canopy to organize, process, and track deliverables.

- Analyze financial and tax information in Microsoft Excel by applying formulas, pivot tables, and structured data management techniques to improve efficiency.

- Coordinate tax documentation, monitor filing timelines, and resolve issues that could affect deadlines or reporting quality.

- Review complex tax data related to trusts and estates and provide informed guidance on return preparation and filing considerations.

- Partner with internal stakeholders or client contacts to gather required information, clarify tax matters, and maintain smooth engagement progress. Requirements - Demonstrated experience serving in a Tax Manager capacity with responsibility for complex tax compliance and review work.

- Hands-on knowledge of annual income tax provision processes and corporate tax return preparation.

- Strong background preparing or reviewing returns such as 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, and 706.

- Proficiency with CCH Pro System Fx and CCH Sales Tax, along with experience using Quick Books Online and related tax workflow tools.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data organization techniques.

- Familiarity with trust and estate taxation and the documentation required for fiduciary and estate filings.

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively in a contract-based environment.
