The processing operator is directly responsible for staging ingredients for recipes, making quality recipes and providing them in a timely manner to the production lines for packaging. It is the processing operator’s responsibility to make sure that the proper GMP’s, recipe instructions, and packing temperatures are adhered to throughout the batching process.
This position will report directly to the processing team lead. This position is responsible for carrying out the daily tasks in the processing kitchens. Key job functions consists of preparing ingredients for batches, following recipe protocol for cooking batches, and maintaining a safe working environment in the kitchens. The processing operator is an integral component of the processing department. The employee must meet the following qualifications/criteria:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Gain knowledge of each ingredient, its specifications and allergen status.
- Check production schedule for items for the day, necessary washes, and pack temperatures.
- Check that batch sheets are available for each item for the day.
- Verify each ingredient is properly weighed and staged for each item.
- Follow process steps exactly as on the batch sheet, pay attention to detail.
- Assure all staged are covered to avoid contamination.
- Verify each ingredient has been added, cook time/temp has been reached, all steps are complete and product has been approved by Quality Control before pumping batches.
- Notify maintenance of any equipment break downs or issues.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment blending or mixing
