Water & Sewer Excavation Operator

WCL is hiring a Water & Sewer Side Hoe Excavator Operator, effective April 2026. This important role centers on excavation support and service connections within a team-focused environment.

With a minimum of three years of excavator operation in water and sewer construction, you will play a pivotal role in executing precise excavation tasks. This includes pulling away from the mainline hoe and effectively handling materials near existing utilities. Your ability to maintain safety standards and work alongside the crew is crucial for project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate side hoe excavators for water installations

• Provide excavation support around mainline activities

• Follow safety guidelines and utilities management

• Work as part of a skilled construction team

• Support trench safety and job site protocols

Requirements:

• 3+ years of excavator experience required

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License necessary

• WHMIS and CSTS 2020 certification required or to be obtained

• Strong punctuality and teamwork

• Awareness of trench safety and site conditions
