Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with deep roots in construction and manufacturing accounting. This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands the nuances of job costing, progress billing, WIP reporting, and manufacturing cost flows. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Construction Accounting

  • Manage construction accounting operations, including job costing, cost-to-complete analysis, and progress billing (AIA billing)
  • Maintain and analyze work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules to ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Collaborate with project managers and field operations on job cost tracking, change orders, and financial performance by project
  • Monitor contract profitability and flag cost overruns or margin erosion early

Manufacturing Accounting

  • Support manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis
  • Track raw material, labor, and overhead costs across production operations
  • Partner with operations teams to understand cost drivers and support continuous improvement initiatives

Close, Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist Controller with day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Drive month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
  • Provide analytical support to CEO and CFO
  • Assist with internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency

Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong background in manufacturing and/or construction industries
  • Proven experience with construction progress billing, job costing, and WIP reporting
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with project managers, operations, and leadership
