Compliance Engineer
Responsible for ensuring products are suitable and abiding by the standards and regulations for the fire suppression market in all regions where Amerex products are sold.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Trade Compliance, Quality, Product Management, Procurement, and Product Development to resolve Compliance issues and Customer requests.
- Perform research to understand, learn, and know requirements for product compliance for fire suppression products.
- Work with regulatory agencies such as: UL, FM, etc. for product approvals/compliance and associated listings.
- Create technical documents and instruction literature as needed.
- Review and approve product design changes for adherence to Compliance standards.
- Schedule and support audits and site visits by regulatory agencies.
- Provide certification documentation to Amerex Sales team and customers as requested.
- Ability to handle a dynamic workload: from multi-tasking to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects.
- Willingness to work and assist with other engineering team projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials, or Fire Protection Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university.
- Excellent team communication, time management, human relations, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy.
- Self-directed, energetic, dependable, and thorough.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Autodesk, Solid Works, or other CAD software.
Summary of Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and may involve exposure to moderate noise levels.
While conducting R & D efforts, this position may involve working with hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold).
