Sirius Staffing is seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Power Systems Engineer for a permanent, direct-hire opportunity focused on advanced electrical power architecture for data center and mission-critical applications.
This is a senior-level electrical power engineering and systems-design role responsible for developing complete AC/DC power-system solutions, performing complex power-system analysis, selecting major electrical equipment, and supporting testing and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in medium- and low-voltage power distribution, power-system studies, protection, equipment sizing, and electrical system architecture. Direct data center experience is highly valuable, but candidates with strong backgrounds in BESS, microgrids, utility power, power conversion, generation, renewable energy, marine power, or other mission-critical electrical systems will also be considered.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of complete electrical power-system architectures for mission-critical and data center applications.
- Translate customer and application requirements into technically sound, reliable, and constructible electrical solutions.
- Perform electrical load calculations, system modeling, equipment sizing, and power-system analysis.
- Perform or review studies including:
- Load flow
- Short circuit
- Arc flash
- Protection coordination
- Grounding
- Harmonics
- Motor starting
- Transient and dynamic system behavior, as applicable
- Select and specify major electrical equipment including:
- Transformers
- Medium- and low-voltage switch gear
- Circuit protection
- Relays
