Sr. Accountant

Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing organization in Tualatin, Oregon. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in core accounting operations while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to support accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Lead critical close activities each month, ensuring financial records are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Prepare and review journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

- Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Manage bank account reconciliations and investigate variances across cash-related transactions.

- Support the preparation of internal financial reports by analyzing account activity and summarizing results.

- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and maintain strong controls.

- Assist with process updates or operational accounting changes as the business continues to expand.

- Contribute to audit readiness by organizing supporting documentation and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Requirements - Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for month-end close activities.

- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.

- Experience completing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies with accuracy.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.

- High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines effectively.

- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and reconciliations.

- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams.
