We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our client and report directly to the Payroll Manager. As a key contributor to the payroll function, you will work closely with Human Resources, Finance, managers, and employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations across U.S. employees, maintaining compliance, supporting audits, improving payroll processes, and serving as a trusted resource for payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. As our organization grows, this position offers opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance within the payroll function.
This position is based on-site four days per week (Monday–Thursday) in Tualatin, Oregon.
Key Responsibilities- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,100 U.S. employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
- Review payroll information for accuracy, including employee hours, earnings, benefit deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments.
- Perform comprehensive payroll audits before and after payroll processing to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Calculate and process off-cycle payrolls, including final wages in accordance with applicable state laws.
- Complete payroll close activities, including retirement and HSA funding, payroll reporting, and preparation of accounting journal entries.
- Investigate and resolve payroll processing issues while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
- Generate recurring payroll reports and provide payroll data to internal departments and external partners.
- Process equity compensation transactions, including RSUs, through Equity Edge and ADP while maintaining employee tax records and processing required off-cycle payments.
- Develop and maintain payroll procedures and documentation to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- Five or more years of experience managing full-cycle payroll for large, multi-state organizations with 1,000 or more employees.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, including federal, state, and local compliance requirements, with experience supporting Oregon and California payrolls.
- Strong understanding of payroll operations, employment laws, and payroll best practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
- Experience administering equity compensation programs, including Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs).
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and payroll controls in a publicly traded company.
- Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to interpret complex payroll information and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during payroll processing and year-end activities as needed.
