The position of Senior Staff Accountant plays an integral role in supporting the essential accounting functions which are crucial to the financial function of the company.
- Quality control: subcontractor pay applications, vendor invoices, deposits and month-end close.
- Acts as an additional resource for the accounting department regarding issues related software issues.
- Back up to the Controller on issues related to current cash position and cash forecasting.
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors about items needed for payment.
Additional Duties:
- Work across multiple software platforms.
- Develop a technical proficiency in both Procore and Viewpoint Vista.
- Daily processing of check deposits to the bank and update positive pay.
- Monthly bank account reconciliation for all payroll accounts and miscellaneous companies.
- Assist with monthly close by reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Develop a proficiency in WIP reporting and be a back up to the Controller in preparing the company WIP schedule on a monthly basis.
- Review processed invoices for proper supporting documentation, coding, and other necessary approvals.
- Follow up with Project Managers regarding approval of invoices.
- Act as backup for weekly payroll.
- Review Certified Payroll submitted on Prevailing Wage jobs.
- Assist in verifying subcontractor banking information so that they can be paid electronically through Procore Pay.
- Assist Controller in the yearly preparation and submission of profit-sharing census.
- Sign lien waivers for monthly owner billings.
- Act as backup for positive pay.
- Assist the accounting team with year-end audit preparation.
- Assist with the maintenance of employee burden calculations and annual updates to the fixed rate tables.

Education & Experience
:
Bachelor’s degree and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in construction, construction accounting, or general accounting. Degree in Accounting, Business, or similar field preferred.
