Location: Tualatin, OR
Job SummaryThe Civil Associate Engineering Technician will support underground transmission projects by performing technical tasks that require intermediate knowledge of civil engineering principles and drafting practices. Under general supervision, this role focuses on the development and modification of plan and profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station
.
This position supports underground electric transmission line projects and collaborates closely with engineering and design teams to produce accurate, high-quality deliverables that meet project and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineering teams under general supervision on underground transmission projects
- Perform technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of civil engineering principles and design practices
- Use digital design tools and software (CAD/BIM/3D modeling) to create, update, and maintain project deliverables
- Develop plan and profile drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station
- Apply applicable design standards, systems, and document control practices to ensure compliant deliverables
- Maintain strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Perform basic engineering computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
- Coordinate deliverables with other project disciplines to minimize errors and interferences
- Support internal stakeholders while developing an understanding of external client priorities and project drivers
- Begin providing technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineering technicians
- Proactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies, tools, and evolving design processes
- Working experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station
- Experience developing plan and profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Basic Civil 3D knowledge, including alignments, plan/profile views, and sections
- Ability to follow established standards, procedures, and quality requirements
- Demonstrated accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve methods, processes, and workflows
- Diploma or Certificate required
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred
