This Project Manager role is a high‑profile leadership position within the Water & Wastewater Business. As part of the Portland, Oregon team, you will manage the successful delivery of water‑related infrastructure projects in the multi‑million‑dollar range. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

• Lead team efforts for marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development and preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities.
• Accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance.
• Interact with assigned clients, participating in client activities and promoting Black & Veatch through client and community activities.
• Support development of overall market business plan, market strategies and client engagement strategies, leveraging technical and management resources to expand Black & Veatch’s market footprint.
• Oversee engineering managers, develop project performance goals, and ensure accountability for implementation.
• Assist with performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, payments, and lead project performance reviews.
• Champion team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement.
• Recommend training, promotion of assigned professionals and develop new candidates to expand the team.

• 15+ years of business development and project management experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Proven technical understanding of wastewater and water markets, including drivers and general trends.
• Strong sales traits, tenacity and competitiveness.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proposal and presentation skills.
• Ability to interface with diverse personalities and think strategically.
• Contract negotiating skills, knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms.
• Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
• Self‑starter able to make independent decisions.
• Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible with multiple demands and shifting priorities, with strong problem‑solving and leadership skills.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
